Find the answers to some common questions about our Pregnancy Program.

Updated over a week ago

Q: Can I start at any time during my pregnancy? And should I start from the beginning of the Program?

A: Absolutely, you can start at any time! Our Pregnancy Program is available to join at any stage of your pregnancy journey.

You'll have the option to select the trimester-specific level of the Program, and then be prompted to share how far along you are in your pregnancy. This will begin your Program in the relevant week for you!

Q: How do I change to a different trimester?

→ Click your profile pic to open the App Menu

→ Select 'Change Program' & scroll to find the Pregnancy Program

→ Swipe on the Pregnancy Program to explore the Trimesters/'Levels' available

→ Select your appropriate Trimester-level and follow the steps to onboard

Q: Can I follow the Move With Us Meal Guides during pregnancy?

A: Our Meal Guides offer balanced, nutritious meals, but they aren’t tailored for pregnancy. Some ingredients may not be suitable, like deli meats or soft cheeses. We recommend working with your doctor or dietitian to ensure your nutrition meets your pregnancy needs.

Q: How do nutrition/calorie needs change throughout pregnancy?

A: Your needs increase as your pregnancy progresses, but it’s not about “eating for two.” In the first trimester, most people don’t need extra calories — the focus is more on eating nourishing foods and managing symptoms like nausea. In the second and third trimesters, your needs increase to support your body and your baby’s growth and development, but the exact amounts will vary based on your body, activity levels, and your baby’s development. Every pregnancy is unique, so tuning in to your needs and getting personal advice from your healthcare team is key. ❤️

Q: What should I eat if I’m too nauseous for proper meals?

A: When nausea hits, small snacks are often easier than full meals. Try dry crackers, toast, fruit, yoghurt, or cold foods. Eating every few hours, even if it’s something simple, can help settle your stomach and keep your energy up.

Q: How can I stay hydrated if I feel sick all the time?

A: Sip fluids slowly and regularly throughout the day. Colder drinks - coconut water, electrolyte drinks, or Hydralyte icy poles can be easier to manage. Always see your doctor, as they may suggest anti-nausea meds to help.

Q: What if I can’t eat balanced meals in the first trimester?

A: That’s completely normal! The first trimester can bring nausea, fatigue, and food aversions. Just focus on getting something in, even if it’s toast, a cracker or some fruit. Once you feel better, you can gradually bring back more balance and variety.

Q: What protein powder can I have while pregnant?

A: It’s important to choose a protein powder that’s pregnancy-safe if you wish to use one. Look for options with simple ingredients and no added nasties. Always check with your doctor or dietitian before using any supplements.

Q: Can I be in a calorie deficit while pregnant or breastfeeding?

A: We don’t recommend a calorie deficit during pregnancy or while breastfeeding, as your body needs extra energy and nutrients to support both you and your growing baby. Focus on nourishment and speak with your healthcare provider about your individual needs. ❤️

We hope these help! ❤️
